Hi all! Just broke away from my hectic Sunday schedule to let you all know how much I am enjoying this day. Well I awoke at 9.30am with the smell of freshly-made coffee and I just knew it was going to be a perfect day. I haven’t left the bed yet! (Naughty naughty)! I am tempted to say it’s the perfect weather for lazing in bed with your hubby and your dogs, but I haven’t actually looked outside yet, so for all I know it’s a gloriously sunny day – but I have my doubts! So, instead I will say, it’s a perfect day for lazing in bed with your hubby and your dogs – regardless of what the weather is doing.
It has really been a great weekend, starting with a public holiday on Friday, on which I managed to spend a whole afternoon with my wonderful friends, Caroline and Suzaan – it has been a long while since we have spent time together just the three of us and it was great to be able to do so. I also was honoured to see the latest baby scan and delve into the baby drawers to ooh and aah over all the baby’s little things. She certainly will be a very well-dressed (and very warm, thanks to all the blankets) little madam!
Yesterday, I had my dad and stepmom over for lunch, which was relaxing and nice. Last night we went with Clive and Nix to see ‘Hannibal Rising.’ Why oh why do I do this to myself? I spend most of the movie with my head tucked into Steven’s armpit – thank goodness he showered before we went out! Having said that, it really was a very good movie with a great introduction to how Hannibal became Hannibal – played by a very intense and excellent young actor who I have never heard of but I am sure will be seeing a lot more of due to his brilliant performance.
And so, now that I have managed to drag myself away from bed to write this post and check on all the other bloggers (as you can see my blogging addiction far outweighs my laziness); I will say bye bye and hope you are all having an equally blissful Sunday!
Love you all!

So, we’re home – back safe and sound!
We had a lovely time and feel very rested and peaceful. Wonder how long it will take for RW (thanks for the term Wends) to set in…;0)
So for those of you who know Steven, he has been ‘lookin forward’ to this weekend away for a really long time – I kept on making the booking and then would have to cancel for some or other reason. So, since his birthday at the end of Feb, we finally managed to get away this time. In keeping with his nature, this last week has been filled with trips to the outdoor and camping shops so that he can be well kitted out. Among the things he bought, besides the little fridge we borrowed from the folks and all the other camping gear we already have, are: a new gazebo (we already have one, I have no idea why), a washing up stand, new cups, plates, glasses etc just specifically for camping and an air pump thingy for our blow-up mattress. So, we get there and set everything up – all is well and happy and exciting…. Then, the tent finally goes up and it’s time to set up the bed …………….THAT’S RIGHT – STEVEN FORGOT TO PACK THE MATTRESS! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH! By the time we realised this, it was too late for any shops in the bustling town (NOT) of Onrus to be open, so we faced a night of sleeping on the hard floor! I know, I know camping is meant to be that way… but not for me! Here is a pic of the campsite and the guilty party…..
In any event, we were happy to be set up and then went for a walk on the beach – just about 20 metres from our site…. jealous yet? The sun was setting so I got a couple of lovely sunset pics..
We had a lovely little braai in the evening and got slightly tipsy on 2 bottles of wine, not to mention the beers we had while setting up. We went to bed rather early as we were quite sleepy. The night was TERRIBLE. Apart from the extreme discomfort of sleeping without a mattress, Steven decided to get sick! One of those ones where there’s no time to run to the toilets…. I won’t say anymore on that subject but suffice it to say that for the rest of the weekend we were keeping a wide berth around a little patch of earth (nicely covered up by the good man) not far enough away from our tent……
Woke up to an absolutely beautiful day on Saturday. We had a quick breakfast (the good intentions of a run in the morning having been quickly and thankfully forgotten by both) and then headed into Hermanus for the day. Walked around the craft market and bought some lovely crystals from the lady I always go to when I am there. We explored as usual and I found a shop called THE PURPLE SHOP! I was sooooo excited and dragged Steven kicking screaming to get there… However, the name of the shop was unfortunately all that was exciting about it…. It turned out to be quite boring…. We then went for some fish and chips at one of the seaside restaurants.

Back at the campsite, we dragged our newly purchased mattress (now we have 2) outside and dozed under the trees reading and snoozing for the rest of the afternoon. We had another little braai and went to bed early again. What can I say, resting and relaxing really takes it out of you!
We had a really wonderful time – it was really needed and we both feel rejuvenated!
Ok, we have a problem here. Now, this is very embarrassing, but here goes:
Normally, it is the man that snores and the woman that moans about it and ends up sleeping in the next room. But not in this house… Yes, that’s right – I snore! (Cue blushing and squirming…) It is a problem I have developed in the last year and it is getting worse. Last night, Steven almost went to sleep on the couch – something we have made a vow never ever to do in our marriage! But i don’t blame the guy – it must be soooo frustrating to try and sleep when you have Foghorn Ronnie next to you! You see, I have always struggled with my sinuses, but since I started yoga, I can only breathe through my nose, and since my sinuses get totally clogged up at night, this is where the problem comes in. APPARENTLY it is not a normal snore it is more like a nasal snorting type of thing… He even recorded it the other night for me to hear in the morning …. how MORTIFYING! So, on Saturday Stevie decides he has had enough and goes to Clicks to buy earplugs as well as…… NASAL PLASTERS! Oh yes, people – things are getting sexy in the Cobley household! They are these plaster type things that you stick on your nose and it is supposed to pull on the nose so that it widens the nasal passage and VOILA! NO MORE SNORING! Errrrrr, not quite……! After reading the box this morning (two nights with nasal plasters and earplugs), we discover that they take six nights before they start working and the earplugs hurt Stevie’s ears…! So, night time is great fun! I wake up feeling slightly abused from being moaned at, nudged and shoved all night, and Steven wakes up exhausted from lack of sleep! What do we do???? Any suggestions are welcome!
ps the good news is, at least I have been falling asleep the last three nights……;0)
Well, it’s been a different sort of a weekend…!
Yesterday saw me becoming an official reiki practitioner, while today saw me sweating it out on a (very hilly) golf course..! Why oh why do I allow myself to be roped into these things? “It will be good exercise, it will be fun!” Take a wild guess whose words those were…..
Well I guess it was kinda fun in the end as Lisa and I managed to hijack a golf cart and drive around like mad people towards the end….! However, the first 12 holes……..NOT FUN! It was really hot with little shade and loads of hills. All I can say is, if I step on that scale tomorrow and I haven’t at least lost 2kgs, heads are going to roll…….! Steven probably had the worst round of golf ever (careful what you wish for Stevie – force your wife to come walk around the course with you and that’s what you get)! At least that takes care of me not having to go again! Oh well, it wasn’t all bad – it was good company, a beautiful day and I must say a really beautiful golf course. So once again, I end off my post with the words ‘All’s well that ends well.’
So off to soak in the tub with my aromatherapy candles, relaxing meditation music and a glass of wine…. Now that sounds more like the Ronnie we all know and love….
