Hi all! Just broke away from my hectic Sunday schedule to let you all know how much I am enjoying this day. Well I awoke at 9.30am with the smell of freshly-made coffee and I just knew it was going to be a perfect day. I haven’t left the bed yet! (Naughty naughty)! I am tempted to say it’s the perfect weather for lazing in bed with your hubby and your dogs, but I haven’t actually looked outside yet, so for all I know it’s a gloriously sunny day – but I have my doubts! So, instead I will say, it’s a perfect day for lazing in bed with your hubby and your dogs – regardless of what the weather is doing.
It has really been a great weekend, starting with a public holiday on Friday, on which I managed to spend a whole afternoon with my wonderful friends, Caroline and Suzaan – it has been a long while since we have spent time together just the three of us and it was great to be able to do so. I also was honoured to see the latest baby scan and delve into the baby drawers to ooh and aah over all the baby’s little things. She certainly will be a very well-dressed (and very warm, thanks to all the blankets) little madam!
Yesterday, I had my dad and stepmom over for lunch, which was relaxing and nice. Last night we went with Clive and Nix to see ‘Hannibal Rising.’ Why oh why do I do this to myself? I spend most of the movie with my head tucked into Steven’s armpit – thank goodness he showered before we went out! Having said that, it really was a very good movie with a great introduction to how Hannibal became Hannibal – played by a very intense and excellent young actor who I have never heard of but I am sure will be seeing a lot more of due to his brilliant performance.
And so, now that I have managed to drag myself away from bed to write this post and check on all the other bloggers (as you can see my blogging addiction far outweighs my laziness); I will say bye bye and hope you are all having an equally blissful Sunday!
Love you all!

Welcome Sven to the Blogoshpere….(Link to the right – Suburban Ape – you will have to ask him why he has called it that). Sven is a fabulous human being – one I am determined to know better if it takes my whole life (When are we going for that drink, Sven?). His mind works like no other person I have ever met, which makes him fascinating, intelligent, hilarious and – as I like all the people in my life to be – more than a little wierd! Please add him to your links and check in on his sure-to-be hilariously entertaining and at times confusing ponderings….
Mmmm…. what do you write when you really wanna write something but you don’t know what to write and no writing of any shape or form comes easily and then you think well if I just start writing, something will come out so I will just write and write and yet, as I am writing I still don’t know what to write…..!
Phew…….. Ok, so I guess I will tell you about my week as uneventful and uninteresting as it was. Well, not really that uneventful but just uneventful enough to make this one of those posts you wish you had never started reading coz by the time you get to the end of it you are going to realise it’s full of nothing!
So, Tuesday night we had our monthly girls’ dinner club. Tuesday was Chantelle’s turn and she chose Mama Roma in Blauwberg. It was quite nice – the food and the wine great (yes, I did have too much as usual). It is so nice to have a regular date with your friends and to be able to get away from the men and the work and all the usual crap of the day! We are a group of people who are so comfortable to just be ourselves, say what we want, do what we want, wear what we want and let it all out! And boy, do we! At times it’s silly, at other times it’s serious, most of the time it’s a scream with all the weirdos I call my friends….! Some of the topics that get discussed are bizarre, scary or just plain rude…;0) (Who said that – not me! Yes girls, I hear you – what happens at dinner club stays in dinner club……) So, that was Tuesday and it was great!
On Wednesday I went to the PERSONAL TRAINER! That was really fun…..NOT! The great thing is (well, not great for her), her leg is in plaster as she has broken her leg (or was it ankle… can’t remember now…) so, half the training session is me walking next to Nadia with crutches and hopping to the next area…..!!!! She once again had some fantastic torture planned for me …. clearly having her feet up gives her imagination that much more time to think up new and interesting ways for me to make a fool of myself in front of the general public! (Did I mention that the likes of Corne Krige and half the Stormers train at my gym – good thing they are married, else boy would they be making passes at me with my sexy purple tracky bottoms with holes in them, bright red face and lunging, squatting and gasping for breath all over the place)! Wednesday evening I had a wonderful reiki session with Louise – thanks Louise – I feel almost normal once again….! Then off to the folks for dinner. Unfortunately, that was not a fun time as we had some bad news in the family so it was tears and stressing on behalf of my sister who I can’t even hug as she is in Scotland….!
Then today was a normal work day – we went for a lovely run on the beach with the dogs – I love this time of year as the sun makes everything orange and all the kitesurfers were out – next time I will take a pic – it really is a lovely sight with Table Mountain in the distance….! (sorry Wends, but yes, I am trying to make you jealous….. Read: Come Home)!
So, that is my week thus far! Tomorrow Steven and I are off to Onrus for the weekend so wish good weather on us please. My doggies are staying with their cousin Leo (sis-in-law’s dog) – so they will be having fun too! Will take lots of pics and tell you all about it on Monday!
Hmmm…. For a post entitled ‘Writer’s Block’ this is quite a long one…….. ;0)
Love you all!

Here are some more pics…
This first one was taken at Hillcrest on Good Friday. Anch, Suzaan and little Rowan….
Wow! Had a wonderful afternoon with Caz today. I went with her to drop off her assignment at Stellies. We bought lunch from the ‘Neelsie’ and sat outside under a tree eating lunch and chatting. Oh to be a student again….. it was such a lovely atmosphere there students milling around and a beautiful breeze on a beautiful hot day. Remember those days where your biggest concern was: ‘What am I gonna wear today?’ Of course, at the time, we felt our lives were so stressful and full of drama…. It was so nice to take a step back in time although I felt about 100 years old in that Neelsie place. There was a girl in front of us in the queue who still wore braces!!!! I mean, I felt like an ABBA fan at a heavy metal concert! But it was still so much fun and so nice to unwind after a very stressful morning.
The original plan was we would meet at 12.30 and then drive through to Stellenbosch. Well, I eventually pitched up at Caz’s place at 1.30! I just couldn’t get out of the office – phones ringing, husband-stroke-boss moaning, traffic lights going red (I am talking EVERY SINGLE ONE), and of course every single truck in the road deciding it had to show me the back of it…! Many would take this as a sign – ‘Hellooooooooooooooo, you’re not meant to go to Stellenbosch today!’ But no! I scoff in the face of signs!!! So, eventually we are off and boy oh boy, the signs kept coming.
First, I decided to change lanes without checking my blindspot (by the way, did I mention that Caz is PREGNANT?), nearly connecting with a car coming past.
Then, we hear a LOUD BANG! I think one of the tires burst (Caroline, ever the optimist thought maybe it was a balloon……HUH? Don’t ask me – I told you my friends are weird…). Anyway, I pulled over – the tires were fine, still don’t know what the problem was but we are still alive so it was probably just a stone that on my tin car sounded more like a giant boulder. Then, we land behind this old fossil of a man who was driving about 40kph on the N1 and keeps pulling over and nearly coming to a stop and then just pulls back into the road….!!!!
Well, all’s well that ends well as they say – we defied the signs and kept going and yes we had a lovely time….!
Have a great weekend everyone!
